Tonje and Carl got married on a summer day by the sea in July 2024. I was hired as a second videographer for this wedding, not as the main photographer, but as part of a team. What I still carry with me, though, is a day where two people glowed with love for each other, and a crowd that sparkled around them from morning to night.
It was the kind of day where you don't need to look for the moments. They come on their own. Bridesmaids singing at the top of their lungs during dinner. A couple feeding each other cake and laughing so hard they shake. Guests who don't want the day to end.
On the day itself I was working with a tendon inflammation in my arm. That's not exactly ideal for a videographer, but it's the kind of thing that fades into the background when the day is this good. Once the video part was done, I picked up my own camera. It had turned into a late summer evening, the sun was heading toward the horizon over the sea, and Tonje and Carl strolled out over the sand dunes.
Over the next few hours I managed to capture some moments for them: a sunset kiss on the beach, cake cutting in evening wear, first dance under hanging fairy lights. Those are the pictures you see here. Not a complete documentation of the day, but a selection from the hours I had the camera in hand.
