Summer light at the marina on Averøy

Averøy isn't the first place people think of when they're getting married. Maybe that's why it works so well.

The day started at Sveggvika Gjestehus, where Marianne got ready together with her daughters and the bridesmaids. There weren't many quiet moments. Laughter, champagne, and the kind of talk that only happens between people who truly know each other. I knew early on this was going to be a great day.

The ceremony took place out on the dock at Naustvollan Småbåthavn. No church roof, just sea and sky. Marianne cried. Tony cried. The guests cried. I photographed.

It was the first time I worked with my partner Lisa as a second photographer. We got to borrow the couple's cabin during our stay, an offer you don't turn down. It gave us the chance to follow the day from start to finish without stressing about logistics.

Marianne and Tony are the kind of couple that make the job easy. Not because everything is perfectly planned, but because they're themselves the whole day. There was never a dull moment. Not one.
